Pinned down in Cedros Harbor!

Well the wind is a bit stronger than forecasted this morning. It started blowing 25-30 knots consistently from the north at around 3am and hasn’t let up. It’s a bit too much for me to weigh anchor on my own, with the breakwater directly in my lee. If something has fouled my anchor or chain, I’d have very little time to sort it out on my own before I have even bigger problems.

If the wind dies down before 11am (~2.5 more hours) then I’ll stick to the plan and head to Turtle Bay today. Otherwise I’ll try again tomorrow or Sunday. I might pull up anchor and sail overnight if I get the chance. Then I’d try and time it so I get to turtle bay after daybreak and take the outside of Isla Natividad so I’m not traversing Dewey Channel at night. Apparently there is a strong current there and lots of lobster pots and traffic, not something you want to deal with in the dark.
